An app that helps couples find great dates and remember to actively love their partner — before life gets in the way.
Couples drift apart from lack of rhythm, not lack of love — a strong concept with no clear picture yet of what the app should look like.
12 weeks, start to launch — discovery and brainstorm, then a prototype, then a full live-database build, with weekly check-ins throughout.
R30,000 for the prototype, R75,000 for the User Test Environment.
The founder had a clear vision: couples drift apart not from lack of love, but lack of rhythm — no one remembers love languages, plans dates, or celebrates the small stuff once daily life takes over. There was no existing tool built around that idea, just a strong concept and no clear picture of what the screens or flow should look like.
We ran a brainstorm session to map both partners' journeys — onboarding, love language discovery, weekly love points, and date planning — then designed and built Poofin: a mobile app where couples track love languages, log thoughtful moments, and discover curated date ideas together.
Timeline
Pitch, deep-dive brainstorm session, and a signed-off brief covering both partners' user stories and the core love-language mechanic.
Wireframes and full visual design, followed by an interactive prototype (R30,000) walked through with the client before the live build started.
A fully functional test environment (R75,000) connected to a real database, with weekly check-ins to review progress and adjust features.
Sign-off and a live URL — real couples could start using Poofin and testing the concept in the market.
Interactive click-through prototype.
Fully functional build on a live database.
Weekly cadence calls across both builds meant feedback got folded in early — Poofin launched in the original 12-week window, ready for real couples to test.
